Boomboxes with TV's, a solution to the lack of over the air broadcasting. There are some great Boomboxes with TV’s out there. But what do you do now that over the air broadcasting has ended? Or if you have a bunch of hand held TV's?

Here is the solution I have found and it works really well. It easily covers my entire Boom Room with a signal and I have walked up from the basement to the third floor with no interruption.

Yeah buddy! Those were a big deal to transmit your rental VHS movie around the house. Haha.
Supposedly pretty bad "negative-energy" for your body if overused. But who's gonna overuse a 4" TV. Lol.
Nice video. Best part is it will work with euro boxes in US. I can't get the "belling-lee" euro cable to accept audio with US-coaxial adapter, only video.

Very interresting.
I have already mod an old Samsung CRT from 80's with a raspberry and a RGB cable (rgp-pi.com). It's now a vintage Smart TV :)
That was be possible thanks to the scart input.

I still looking for a embedded VHF solution.
In France it's even more complicated, because the norm was not the PAL but the SECAM L :(
I was found some stuff like yours: an old SECAM to VHF modulator, but they must be repair and it will be difficult to integrate them.

Are there vintage boombox with color display and composite input?

As always, I'm dreaming of the "Ultimate Display". That once a year party when I have people over in the Boom Room, radios blaring and now I will have a full compliment of tiny TV's going     Just writing that makes me realize of seriously ill I am

I knew you had one so bought one off eBay, then I realised I didn't have a tv box lol. Bought one since :-)
Yeah, I was holding out posting because I was waiting on that HDMI adapter. They only come from China and the first one got lost in the post, so I have to ask for a refund and order another before I could do the BIG REVEAL

Never heard of SECAM L Sounds like something a sailor would contract while stopping in the Philippines

As far as color TV Boomboxes, I only know of one, the Sharp CT-6001. Kind of a rare one, but they come up from time to time for serious money.

Chris the audio signal can only be picked up on a TV band, right? Wish there was a way for regular boomboxes to pick it up. Maybe you could connect the Line Out from one of your TV boxes to an FM transmitter?

You can make a TV box with YouTube and a smartphone. Only thing you need is a box with line in and some Velcro lol.
Trying to get TV reception reverse engineering is like trying to send an email with smoke signals you gotta bridge the technology gap ,that's why they needed some middle mothfuker to bridge between the morons and the genius's.

Your absolutely right, you could come out of the HDMI converter into an FM Transmitter, to cover the FM on all the other radios and send the Video signal to the Zealous Video Sender and play music videos while cranking the collection.

GOOD CALL!

Yes, this is true, but I have been trying to figure out how to use these old TV's without modification for years. I finally got it figured out.

Own a TV box to and was looking for a retro game console to play around with.
Would this combination work to?

Any HDMI source to RCA with RCA AND from RCA to RF with #2.
#1. https://www.amazon.com/Portta-Composite-Toslink-Converter-Blue-Ray/dp/B00GH92V8C/ref=pd_bxgy_23_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=CQ7G4BV7GTY2GR8DJMP0

#2. https://www.amazon.com/RCA-Compact-RF-Modulator-CRF907A/dp/B0014KKV7W/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_23_bs_t_1/133-6847556-1263363?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=PA8SNTVMQ31WNSTCAVH6

When you want more TV Boxes to receive the signal you simply use a splitter :-)

This is pure genius Chris. I had the same problem as Radio Active mentioned with the lack of audio coming through the Belling Lee connector on my 3090EN. Thanks for the video!

I have an Atari 2600, I used a coax into a two pronged thing that screws on to the TV screws on the TV. But it really depends on the set. My JVC 3090 has a co-axle plug on the back that you can run the Atari plug right into.

If you get this set up working for yourself, please post pictures.

Great solutions. Been trying to figure out how to watch something on my Sony WatchMan. That setup might be overkill for my little hand held TV, but it'd be fun nonetheless.
