Hi All!

Long story short I've just dropped some cash on a Sharp GF9191E, it arrives next week and is in need of the inevitable belt replacement.

I've had a quick look through the forums here:

https://boomboxery.com/forum/index.php/topic/4359-belt-sizes-post-known-belt-sizes-for-your-boxes-here/?hl=sharp#entry60655

but cant seem to see the GF9191 belt sizes listed..

Can anyone tell me the correct belt sizes required for the Sharp GF9191E?

I've had a little search online and found these available to buy:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sharp-GF-9191-Genuine-Thakker-Belt/dp/B01JNTTMDY/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1510086832&sr=1-5&keywords=Sharp+GF-9191&dpID=31XA1vF3p8L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Thinking of pulling the trigger on these but it lists no specific belt size or length so not sure..

I'm doing as much research as possible for a first time boombox owner and am excited to get the tape deck up and running back to its glory!

Great choice. I love the 9191 and it's one of the easier ones to repair. That Amazon seller seems to have a good rating so probably ok but who knows.

Took the Sharp part numbers for the belts from the service manual and cross-referenced them here.
All three are available from multiple ebay sellers.

Motor: NBLTH0051AF00 --- FRW10.1 --- 0.120"x0.023" / 3mm x 0.6mm
Auto stop: NBLTK0053AF00 --- SCX7.0 --- 0.047" x 0.045" / 1.2mm x 1.1mm
Counter: NBLTK0105AFZZ --- SCX7.4 --- 0.048" x 0.048" / 1.2mm x 1.2mm

You might want to go that route because there are no exact replacements for two of them under the new belt codes.
FRW10.1 --- No exact replacement. Closest is FBS9.9 or FBS10.2. They are 3mm wide.
SCX7.0 --- SBO7.0 is 1mm x 1mm, should work fine.
SCX7.4 --- No exact replacement. Closest is SBO7.2 or SBO7.5.

Thanks guys! appreciate the help.

I actually ended up buying a kit through ebay this morning (I've read its best to replace the pinch roller and capstan bearing) so wanted to get it all in a kit bundle.

I went with this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302273208115

I thought it would make sense to get everything together in case its not just the belts causing the tapes to get chewed up.

Good thing is with the help of caution and bugpat i have a reference and go to if these belts dont do the job!

Now all i have to do is try and source a GF-9191 E battery cover and the radio antenna black plastic end tips and its all set!

Cheers guys.
