Ok. At some point some fool decided that a ghettoblaster should look like Darth Vader’s crash helmet with a cd player in it (flimsy black plastic, uurgh!) So what was the last truly great box to be built and when was it made?

The above were also literally "great": The Wheely was the biggest classic (XXth century) one-piece boombox ever produced; not the longest, but hey, you can't have it all :-)

The last great boombox was the last of the Sharp GF-series and the JVC RC series. 1 piece boomboxes that are exceptional in sound, appearance, and quality. When the CD boxes started coming in the quality for the most part went down, not all but most of manufacturers got stingy in the 90's!😮🎶🎼📻📻

The thing that sucks is JVC was one of the first to make the newer uglier CD boxes lol.

I had a top of the line Sony CD box around 1992 it sounded farking great but it looked horrible and I just could not stand the looks of it and smashed the damn thing .

I think Lasonic 975 was actually the last. Mine was dated 1991. But I’m not 100% sure. But also I believe the 3rd edition 931 round could have also been although sound wasn’t as good

Well I always thought lasonic was one if not the last ones to build a real ghetto blaster. Not only that but 3 models. Lasonic kicks ass!.

I hear you Floyd, the looks just aren't happening even with a lot of buttons. Stupid CD will go out and if it's a 3 piece you wouldn't want to be seen with that outside!😮
Yes I've cracked a couple of Lennox Sounds that weren't to my liking!!😮😮🤢😊
