U.K.
I wondered if anyone has ever had one of these boxes apart and can advise on a main belt change.

Unlike other boxes I have worked in, it appears to be a 4 pieces assembly. Front, rear and top panel with a strong plastic 'central chassis' with the mechanism mounted on one side, and various boards on the other. From what I can see, the mechanism can be easily released, BUT it sits on very short cables (no plugs) and cannot be lifted more that a centimeter at most. This leads me to think the main board needs to come off, to access the belt drive at the back, but though this board can be released, again it is on insanely short cables. I can only conclude that all boards (inc power and turner) need to be released as a whole (which are all weaved into this central chassis). This seems a ludicrous amount of work for a belt change, buy maybe so.

Any thoughts gratefully received. I have attached a couple of images to try and show the central chassis.

The best thing to do is try to flip the cassettedeck over enough to get to the back of the deck. These older boxes were made before connectors were widely used so everything is hardwired .
