Just tested out my recently purchased Sony CFS-4000. Everything works great, however any speaker connected to the right channel sounds incredibly quiet. Obviously the volume improves if the equalizer is maxed out, but throws of speaker balance. Any suggestions? The left channel works fine, the right seems to be the only problem. I'll hit it with contact cleaner tomorrow and see if that helps any.

Hopefully cleaning all sliders (volume, balance, EQ etc.) and switches does it.
On one of my Hitachis all sliders/pots were fine with no scratching noise at all.
I had to replace the capacitors - see this thread - which was a lot of work, but the problem was sorted then.
