That is probably based on the outdated version of the Bumpboxx.

I wonder if it is internally the same power, etc..? If so, I'm not so much concerned about how ticked off Bumpboxx might be...what about those that paid $499.99 for a Bumpboxx? Hats off I guess. They had it first and were able to sell the units in large quantities

I have the original version. I can't get caught up in the additional versions that continue to pop up and go up in price. I hate the original square handle. The rounded handle is ideal for sure. Mono does kinda blow, but it is pretty deep and loud. $379 shipped was a good buy imo. The exose 9 sits on my kitchen counter. I love that radio. I also have the aiwa X15. I like that it has luggage wheels. I pull it out from time to time.

That fake spectrum analyzer really sucks.  Might as well just leave it blank or have a peak power output light. IMHO.

I wonder who came first.  All I know is China has borderline nonexistent rules about intellectual property.

Probably too afraid of warranty claims from fools breaking them off

Just FYI, the Akoustiq model (not to be mistaken for the V3) is now listed on Amazon prime in black or red for $275.95 US, and $229.00 on ebay.

You know...you could bolt the current bottom of these two boxes together to where the 4 10's are in the middle and the 4 tweeters are to the outside, relocate the two handles together at the (new) top, screw feet onto the (new) bottom and use a patch cable to run Left channel on the left unit, right channel on the Right unit and have stereo sound and the looks of the uprock V1 with about the same total RMS power (150X2) and spend less money.

Can anyone else visualize this? You would also have the meters on the side jumping outwards. The biggest issue would be relocating the control board for the right side since it would be on the bottom.

Maybe they're trying to say if you buy one of these you will get kicked outta your bed...next one should show him on the couch clutching his pounding akoustiq. J/K  :-P

I think it's just a sleeveless jacket with a weird zipper, but it's all parachuted like he's coming back down from jumping, with the camera on the ground right in front of him angled upward.

Anyone who was airborne with that hunk of MDF attached to a rope around his neck would surely suffer extreme robe burn as a minimum or maybe a broken neck when gravity did its thing :-)Attached File  1A330704-179E-4F8A-A11E-EBD654B5CF68.png   589.68K   2 downloads
They attempt to link these things to the real deal 80s boxes but anyone with a working pair of eyeballs could tell the Bumpboxx / Akoustiq box is no 80s device.

Looks cheap with black woofers. Bumpboxx had the right idea to make the woofers silver.  Gives them more depth, instead of looking like flat frying pans on a flat red box (the Acoustiq).

Oh ok, makes sense.......But it's still wack.  If it confused me, it's going to confuse others as well.  But I guess it's no surprise considering where this product comes from.  An American advertising professional would never have approved such an awkward and nonsensical photo.
