I have made some upgrades to the Boom Room!

To start with, the back wall is now 50% connected, with various radio's pumping out the beat. After multipal arrangements and dealing with a mostly empty room with a tile floor, I was struggling with tons of echo. With every radio set to stereo, it exasperated the situation.

So, to combat that, I split that channel right down the center of the room. I set all the radio's to Mono and directed the left channel to all the radios on the left and the right channel to all the radios on the right, leaving just the J1 as center, true stereo.

Next I set all the EQ's on all the radio's to Flat and zero'd the bass and treble knobs. I purchased some software called Graphic Equalizer Studio 2017 and completely EQ'd the whole wall, one radio at a time, then again with them all going.

The end product is acceptable. It's no replacement for a home stereo and it's certainly not "Hi Fi". But for a party, with the light show going, it will get great.

The lighting is a 27 watt Amaz-Play 9 color DMX LED set up, with a separate lazer beam, 8 inch mirror ball with two pin spot lights.

Can you say "1979"?

I do have to say, I kind of feel bad. My wife and I got together with a few other couples, most of which have been to the house and seen the Boom Room, "pre-super disco". One of the women that has been to the house, her husband just arrived. He has been working on his "Man Cave" and blurted out to the group, "Your all gonna have to come over and party in my man cave when it's done" and one of the other guys interrupts him and says, "Dude, don't even try, this guy over here has got everyone beat, it's not even a fair fight".

The look of instant sadness and bewilderment came over the new guys face, I felt really bad.

They are all coming over this weekend for my wifes birthday bash and the Disco Boom Room is ready to go!

WOWSER, WOWSER, WOWSER!!! :jawdrop:

This just has to be the best Boom Room ever, beat this if you can -HA! I doubt there is another Boom Room on the planet that even comes close to this level of perfection. The dedication to the finest detail in setting up this Boombox Extravaganza hasn't gone unnoticed either, what an outstanding credit to the cause you are, Sir.

How on earth can you find the willpower to leave such a room once you're surrounded by this level of Boomboxery Beauty?

I can answer your question easily! I don't leave it!   This room is also my office of sorts. I spend most of my time in here. Although, the lights and music are not pumping!

I have all the windows blocked so day or night, all the lighting is totally controlled. So if we wanted to party hard at 10am, we can do that!

Wow, Chris!
So how does the left/right split work, are you using 2 FM transmitters, one for left and the other right?

Thanks everyone. I have been just turning it all on to look at it LOL. It's pretty fun!

Almost all of this is achieved with this one light: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amaz-Play-Stage-Lighting-Club-Party-Dance-DJ-Disco-Lights-with-27W-9-Colors-Effe-/201968464771?epid=1472236198&hash=item2f06423383:g:9eYAAOSwbiFZVA7Z

I have had the laser for 20 years.

No, sadly, my FM transmitter gave out. I think it may have over heated. I had it in a room on the 4th flor which is like a small room that you use to access the roof. It doesn't get any air circulation and for the most part is sealed off. The transmitter has a cooling fan, but I think it just got to hot.

So, for this weekend I will be daisy chaining the radio's together via RCA plugs.

I ran a line from the computer to the back of the J1, then split the left and right out of the J1 outputs into Y spliters to each side. It's not optimal at all, as each radio down the line gets a weaker signal. You can hear hiss between songs. It's not that bad as the cooling fan on the disco light and the computer are heard as well.

I really need a proper RCA channel splitter, with one in and 10 out or something. So every radio gets and equal signal level.

Of get a new FM transmitter. But that may or may not help me. With all the radio's being inside these metal shelves, they may not receive the signals properly.

I will try to get pictures of the party this weekend!
