At the price it looks like a gamble of an investment probably worth taking.

I wouldn't assume it's for a boombox. It could be for a component deck or integrated home system.
Whatever it was for featured auto-reverse, but had no chrome or metal sensing.
It's a 1991 or 1992 model (shipping label says June 6 1991)
Pretty worthless unless you are trying to build a custom monster box with multiple decks that all have to be the same.

Nasty cheap flywheels & completely Mickey Mouse pinch rollers!! Dreadful, avoid.....

OK. I figured out. It's from JVC PC-30.
I knew I saw those red/blue rollers somewhere… And it's not a crappy mechanism IMHO.
