Nice ad!

You know it's interesting, how many so-called "rare" boxes like the Tosh 40 may not actually be rare at all. Those boxes were sold mainly in South America, and unfortunately we don't have many members from that part of the world. If we did, we'd see many more Tosh 40's and other so-called "rare" brands like Aiko that were common in South America.

Boomboxery sits in a "English language bubble" .....That's why most of our members are from North America and Europe. We are missing a lot of people from South America and Russia and Asia who can't read English very well.

British members on here correct me if I'm wrong but back in the 80s when I was a kid the best 1 piece Toshiba available in the UK was probably an RT-170? There was lots of RT-70s, 80s and 90's at around £50 or £60.

Meanwhile in other parts of the world Bombeat 40's, S90's, WX-1's, Bombeat 18's, 931's, 932's and other fantastic Tosh's being sold and us Brits in the pre internet world unaware of the greatness elsewhere!
Great poster of a great box. They're quite something to see in the flesh too.

You do VERY well for someone who never took an English class. Do you have friends down there who speak it well?

Brazilians LOVE bass. Sony and Aiwa made many stereos only for Brazil.......Like this one:

I like it when these old ad's pop up. It is so interesting that Toshiba put so much effort into one region and not another. Those BB40's are sooooo sweet!

Thanks for sharing!

I'm STILL after one... but I'm not prepared to enter the $2K + international shipping scenario.
Still patiently waiting and biding my time til the opportunity happens.

Rock On.
