Well Boomboxery, I made it to the Dessau Boombox Meet in Germany and I have to say, IT WAS INSANE!

Max is putting together a video of the event, so expect that soon. Below are some pictures. Words can not really describe how impressive this event is. I want to give a HUGE Thank You to Max for allowing my wife and I to stay with him, a HUGE thank you to Peter "BlasterPunk" for setting us up with a great hotel and taking care of us at the event and too all the woderful Boombox collectors I met from Boomboxery as well of countless others who made us feel like we have known them for years!

The event roared on into the night, with a DJ thumping and the boomboxes pounding and the girls dancing. The beers never stopped flowing the everyone had a good time.

Thanks again to everyone that shook my hands. More pictures and video to come!

There was so much at this event, that only the video that is coming will express, but I will try to run down the list...

There was a three story, freshly painted white wall with scaffolding set up and graffiti artists working for 10 hours painting the whole thing.

There was an indoor skate park and some out door ramps, with skaters skating all day.

There were multipal tented area's with tables set up with radio's, all plugged in and ROARING! Ton's and tons or rare models and all our favorites.

There was a full DJ set up with monster sub woofers.

The whole sound system was fed by an FM transmitter, so every radio on the property was connected along with the DJ system!

There was a food truck with "Boombox Burgers", a full mobile bar with beer and mixed drinks

There was an artist selling boombox themed hand painted original paintings!

There were full color T-shirts and HUGE posters for the event.

There had to have been over 100 radios, including a guy with a 1985 Mercedes SEL500 who brought 4 M90's!

When night came, the party REALLY started! Full disco lighting, the finished graffiti wall being illuminated, a projector showing cool lighting patterns on the exterior wall of the skate park.

It just went on and on and on. People came from all across Europe. This was a MASSIVE production that took a huge crew of people to assembled. All run and managed by BlasterPunk PETER.

It's simply staggering to see this level of effort put into a love of the Boombox.

I want to really express how humbling it was to meet so many of the people I have chatted with here on Boomboxery and so many more that are true HARD CORE collectors that don't even belong to this forum. They welcomed my wife and I like we were long lost friends that had known each other for years and years. Every person I met shook my hand, smiled and showed me their radio's. It was an amazing experience.

Max, Tony, Thomas, Herb, Peter and all the names I can't remember because we drank beer from 11am till 1am the next day!

THANK YOU ALL!

FANTASTIC!!! I've never seen so many custom BB's in one place until this event and, WOW, what an event this was. Brilliant pics, excellent reports, BB's galore, ancillary events, good turnout and....and......and......and......just WOW!

For such a long time I was so very proud of the size of my GF-9000, I was naive enough to believe it was HUGE for a BB but, having seen the GF-9000's in the pics above, they look small compared to many BB's. :-/
