Hello Members and Followers,

im proud of my new old Crown 950. But theres a thing that i dont like. My 850 from Crown looks much better and

fells better with full metal knobs. So thats the reason why i made my own full metal knobs for the Crown 950.

Plastics are not my favorite.....So cause im owner of a lathe and a mill i made these knobs by myself.

Not easy but the result speaks for its own:

I've blasted the sides with korunddust. Looks absolutely perfekt. Got also little inserts made from POM cause that the knobs

can be fixed on the poti's.......

got the originals here for sale. If anyone need the plastics let me know, and if anyone need full metal knobs also,

The knobs are not painted......and the surface on top is brushed.......

Oh Damn they look so good! Metal knobs are so much more tactile than plastic.

I'd be interested in a set, pm me please. Great job man

Cool thx, i only used a sandpaper with 400 grain size. this special sandpaper lay on a straight surface and with a special movement

you made the special kind of surface, but its not easy cause you have to keep it for the abrasive particles.....so you have to do clean the sandpaper

after each 2 movement. everyone can make itself....but i have also special tools for my lathe....so many things are possible, my biggest passion is to made

things especially with my lathe and my mill.....and if anyone need help or need parts what i can make.....let me know. i think its important to give something back

to other people when i can. its good for my karma :) and a smile in other faces can give us so much more than only money or whatever.....

additional info: the sandpaper is especially for metals.....not the ordinary from the toolsstore.....

Thanks for all your positive resonance :) and to satisfy your curiosity about the length how it need: not so much,

when im in good condition i made all knobs in 2 hours. but it need a little concentration.

the mainwork does need so much time......and maybee for the future is needed to airbrush the knobs with a special paint called zaponlack.

its to avoid fingerprints and oxydation. and this paint is very thin and especially for brass alu and all kind of non ferrum metals, wood plastics and much more.

I will make some knobs more to demonstrate the steps how to make.....think this is maybee interesting for you to see.....

best regards to all of you

and i make some better photos......very dark i think and the details are not so good to see.....

So dear members and followers.....

Here some pictures from how do i realise the knobs.....i have make some new to show how it goes

first the inlays, then center it and drilling with 5.6mm after that i turn the correct and nedded diameter with a little oversize to

press it in the aluknob. but therefore i must ream the hole for the potishaft with a special cone reamer.

then i make the outside finish from the aluknob. et`voila after 2 hours the knobs are finished
