The cassette deck on my CFS-45 has been awfully quiet lately. A couple days, it was completely fine, now it's so quiet that I have to turn the volume all the way up to 10 for it to have adequate sound to jam to my beats. It can't be the speakers because the radio is nice and loud. I've cleaned the deck's heads and rollers thoroughly, as I thought the heads were just dirty and that was what was causing quiet sound. Someone suggested a demagnetizer, but I was wondering if there were other ideas I could try to fix the issue.

Try using Deoxit on the tape/radio selector switch. Then work it like 30 or 40 times. As well as the record bar,Deoxit and work it. One other thing I can think of is Deoxit the headphone jack as well. Then stick a headphone male end in and out of jack, many times too. Hope my suggestions help.☺

So, spray the selector switches with contact cleaner and activate them multiple times? I'll think about getting a bottle of contact cleaner to try this. Thanks!
