I had my VZ2000 all back together, sounded great, but I couldn't fish a busted tab out of a slider, so I had to take the front off one more time.

When I reassembled it, the sound was gone. Well almost gone, the headphones sound great. Volume, balance, treble and bass all work fine, and it sounds as loud as it should be on headphones, but once I unplug it, all I can get are very quiet tweeters at full volume. Nothing out of the woofers. I tried each speaker separately to rule out those, and nope.

I don't understand how the headphone jack sounds normal but the woofers are dead and the tweeters barely do anything. I don't see any damage on the headphone board, maybe the cutout switch might be acting up. An old thread said there is a separate amp for the tweeters and woofers, is it possible I zapped the woofer amp when I touched the speaker connector and the tweeter amp is still running the headphones?

1) make sure you did not inadvertently switched the int/ext speaker switch to the wrong position when handling it.
2) headphone jack internal switch maybe stuck In the hp position.
3) check the amp muting circuit (Q401, 402, 405)?

Highly unlikely that the amps are bad. One amp powers woofers & the other powers the tweeters/headphones?
