Picked this beater up the other day. Planning on restoring it a bit. I was trying to get a sm for it, but I dont have anough posts yet.

Anyhow, any ideas? I'm assuming since the vu's are working, its something past the output

Thanks for the replies. Any suggestions on a good cleaner? I shipped it to my next job in las vegas. Wont have my hands on it for another week or 2. Really llooking forward to it though. Already picked up bands.

Any sources for the small silver switches fr the line in radio tape, record mode etc...? I need 7 of them

Also, is there any kind of refoam kit out there for rebuilding the speakers, or should I just look into upgrading.

played around with the radio a bit todasy, I get a tiny bit of sound through the right channel, but thats it, worked the balance knob a lot, but no luck.

Took it apart this afternoon, but im too damn tired to look at the million of caps. not sure what is causing the issue.

is there a repair book available anywhere.

I had a similar issue with my 999 which is quite the same box.

You can find member FatDog‘s guide to service the 777 (or similar) - I found it here:

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1137436/Sharp-Gf-777.html?page=14

Much better than the original manual.

My box had a problem with the Volume-Potentiometer. I took them all apart, repaired the volume-poti and cleaned the rest. Now it‘s working flawless. You may be lucky that a little bit of contact-cleaner in the right spots and some mechanical moving of the knobs may work too.

My advice: allways take pictures of the cables and screws. Removing/servicing the poti-board is a pain in the a**
