Hello I am new here so I would like to introduce myself. I'm a 23 year old dude and I bought my first boombox about 4 months ago. It's a sanyo c30.i cannot get enough of sanyo ghetto blasters. Something in the proportions does it for me. The bass is the only thing I feel could be better. How did I do? Is sanyo a high quality brand?

I suppose I'll have to wait to post pictures. Darn. To me it's a looker.

Welcome aboard! I dated a girl back in '86 who had a C30. It's definitely a nice boombox, but yeah, the bass is kind of lacking. Bass will be short on any boombox with smaller woofers though. If you like Sanyo, maybe set a goal for one of the nicer M-X series units like the M-X720 or the M-X920 - both have amazing sound.

Yup Sanyo make some awesome boxes for sure, the MX920 being the most amazing looking radio ever....

I like SANYO boomboxes too. I have 2 Sanyo C35 and 1 Sanyo C36.
They are good, but not the best.I agree with other members about MX920.
Another very good model is Sanyo M9998 or M9996.

Wow thanks for the suggestions, the mx920 is the best looking radio I've ever seen. Thanks for showing me. I assume they are pretty hard to come by? Also here an imgur link to my boom box, banana for scale (even though the tape deck gives scale already).

Welcome to the madness. Sanyo is a great brand imo. They produced many awesome minis. And of course the 920...the best looking one imo...got one sitting next to me right now :-)

goodman mentioned the 9996 --thats a great sounding model and its less famous than the other $$ ' grails ' mentioned -
you might find a real nice all working one for less than $100

Thanks! I'm pretty jealous. Not going to lie. I'm gonna put my feelers out for a 920.

I really like the dual functionality, I use them as computer speakers as one of my test speakers when mixing retro-wave/80's sci-fi music.
