Left speaker problems Aiwa TPR-926

I have an Aiwa TPR-926 that i picked up for $5 at a thrift store. I had to replace the belts and the tape deck works now. There is one problem though. Both speakers work when on radio and when switched to Mono or stereo. But when playing a tape only the right speaker works and only on stereo. If i switch to mono i get nothing. I can here it faintly if i turn volume all the way up and put my ears to speakers. Tried spraying alcohol on record bar but still nothing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My guess would be that the selector switch needs a generous spraying of some Deoxit D5. Then work it about 20 or 30 times. Also follow what Bill says. He seems to know what he's talking about. At least with regards to boomboxes.😄😄😄😄
