I did not get the speakers yet. Built like tank all metal parts zink-plated. However for every capacitor replacent I need to perform acrobatic excercises just to get it unsoldered. I guess old time German engineers never thought someone would fix it 52 years later...

I hear people say tubes sound warmer, what does that really mean?
Tell me about it!

I have a collection of high end SABA, Philips and Telefunken tube radios.

The SABA I got got 6 speakers and 14 tubes with stereo decoder and auto tuning! Two main speakers are 10" Alnico.

Life like sound! I replaced all electrolytic caps and bad tubes on those.

I remember back in the late 60s my mom had a console stereo & TV combo. I still remember as a kid seeing the back of it with just a bunch of lit up tubes. The sound that thing produced was great.

Yes very nice, but I already switched to H-K A230 and A260 amplifiers. I don't have a practical need for FM tuner, CD player works fine as a source for standalone amp.
