Well, not new to boomboxes. Had plenty in the 80's, but just started collecting them again. I have a Magnavox D-8127. Got that this one at a yard sale. Said it worked, but plugged it in and it did nothing. So instead of paying $20.00, I got it for free. Got it home, and the only thing wrong with it was the voltage selector was on 220 volts. Put it on 110 volts and it was working fine! That started it all off. I also have picked up a few more at yard sales ( JVC PC 200, Sanyo C-35, and a AIWA CS-220H) Nothing fancy, but got them all for a total of $30.00!! Not to bad! Then, for my birthday, my wife got me my best box to date, a LASONIC 975! Not to sure what she paid, but it is in pretty decent shape. It has one broken antenna, and the power button is missing. I took it apart, and used deoxit on the tuner and volume and it got rid of all the static. The tape players are the issue. They both "work". They both play fast on the high speed dubbing setting and even faster on normal. I have researched here and haven't found much on the topic at all. Any suggestions on how to cure this? I have even tried Google search on it and haven't been successful.
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! Looking foward to being on the site and learning what I can.

That's a nice boomer you have there! It's always a plus when your wife helps feed your hobby!

Thanks!! Yeah, I am a decent negotiator. I won't pay retail, wholesale, craigslist or ebay prices at a yard sale/flea market. I don't "need" the boxes, I want them. So at the end of the day, I have to be comfortable with the prices. The boxes do pop up here and there and I try to scoop them up.

Never been a real big fan of forums, but after watching several D8443 mod videos on YT, I
decided to sign up here. Looks like an excellent community. Been into boomboxes since my teenage years and my collection isn't huge, but I have a couple 931's, a PT-003, a SRC-8, a bunch of D8443's, a couple old Sanyo's, and a couple new school Lasonic's.

That Blaster Summit in Vegas looks like a great time!

Sorry, just realized I should have posted this in it's own thread. Hope I didn't offend anybody.
