Chris,

There is an easy way to remember this....
This is how I was taught.

B B R O Y Great Britain Very Good Wife (just remember this starting with Black)
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9


Hold it with Gold or Silver band on the right side.
then...
1st digit = number
2nd digit= number
3rd digit = number of zeroes
gives the resistance in ohms

I always have to google wtf the colors mean when I'm working with them hahahaha.

you know the value just by looking at them :-)

:-P I thought it was Interesting that a few of the mnemonics were so offensive that it has ended up in one woman dropping out of engineering school and professor getting in trouble.
