Fisher Dual PH-W5000 with 'Wide Surround' in the house!

Picked this up locally when I was buying something else and offered the seller an amount for both items and a deal was struck. This Fisher is a real sleeper for a BPC looking box, but man oh man this sucker sounds great. A couple of the weird touches included on this model is the digital tuner that tunes shortwave, the side firing speakers that really make this box project a good deep and wide sound and the LED meters built into the tape door.

It also has gold trim up top that looks like as if a CD player should go up there but is just an empty space. I can only figure their 'other' model had the CD and this one was built the same but with CD delete.

Any other members on here own this box?

fisher made some superb sounding stuff,ive a nice double deck fisher mini i could see seriously rivalling a sharp qt77.great look,great sound,with a led meter!
always liked this model of yours too,once again i dont think fisher was as popular here in the uk as in the states as we dont see your model here,or that other,slightly older great big massive one (forget the model number,suffice to say id love to get me one of those)

Hey guys, this boombox is Sanyo, but in USA is most popular as Fisher brand.
My friend had similar in the middle of 1990's with cd player on the top.
I remember the sound is good and powerful...

I have this same model boombox I can confirm it has very good sound quality mine came from the garbage but it's fully working

People sleep on these because they aren't "classic" or hyper powerful. They do sound good however and make great utility boxes if you need to keep your grails in limited use.

Hellz yeah, I own this box. It's not a powerhouse, but it sounds pretty damn good for a cheapie. Love the gold accents!
