Hi folks I'm new to all of this so please bare with me, thank you.
This site came highly recommended by my cousin who makes speakers for himself and said that Boomboxery is a good place to start.
I came across a Sony FH-7 MKII but it's in rough shape.
- The face plate for the power supply is missing
- It doesn't have the original speakers so I threw a pair on to see what would happen and a loud hissing sound was only coming out of one and yes the speakers do work
- There is a tape in the tape deck that refuses to come out
- There is lots of dust and by the smell emanating from it the previous owner was a heavy smoker
- There is no visible signs of damage but for a few scratches
I would greatly appreciate any words of wisdom weather or not it's worth repairing. I can do some small repairs but I was thinking to take it to a repair shop here in town.
