Hi,
Hopefully somebody out there can assist me. I need to change the turntable belt on my VZ 2500. I've managed to get the turntable assembly to the stage were it just requires the two white plugs removing and also the small panel which contains the switches for the turntable functions. My problem is I just cannot get the switch panel to come out! I can see that it is held in place at each end by a plastic clip and I can release the tension on one of the clips using a small screwdriver, but the switch panel will not budge. Am I doing something wrong or is there a knack to getting it out easily?

I assume there is no way of installing a new belt without removing the plugs and the switch panel?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve.

if i remember right , you have to loosen the case screws enough to pull the halves apart slightly then you can manipulate the the board out .

JVC Floyd,

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to have to go down the road of taking the front off.

the front case is very easy to remove , the only problem you might have is lining up the cassette keys onto the holes when putting the front back on . there are no wires to unplug the front simply pulls off and has connectors built in that connect together when the halves are assembled.

Thanks once again to JVC Floyd for the useful advice.

I have now successfully taken the front of the case off and replaced the turntable belt, which was still a bit fiddly. The case went back together like a dream and the Phono now plays perfectly, even the speed seems spot on!

Well happy!

Need to try and get a replacement Cassette Deck door now as mine has a small piece of the bottom left hand corner broken off.

Steve.
