Hi,just finally have been going through some of my cheaper boomboxes and CD style boomboxes.
First I had a Sony CFD-W303 twin deck.
Near mint condition but decks needed belts.
The belts were bad and I just had a couple of extras laying around so I belted the decks and they are so easy to work on!! The 2nd deck is at perfect speed but the first deck is fast,no motor spieed adjustment! There's a small hole but even with a jewlers screwdriver it wouldnt do anything, just a oil port I believe but good enough as the 2nd.deck is right on,
The 2nd Sony is a CFD-50,its a early CD style with single cassette, once again just a bad belt, same cassette design as the other and I had found another belt so very simple, just one belt.
Cleaned it up and it works perfect at perfect speed.
Man these Sonys are a breeze to work on.
Now for my CFD-12,same thing,needs a belt BUT it needs a 8" screwdriver,mine is a 6".
I'll get that done next week.
It's always nice to get those decks working nicely!!😀😎📟💳📻
