I got this awesome little boomer and of course, the belts for the walkman needed replacement. I replaced them, lubed a few shafts, cleaned up gear grease and added some Super Lube. Everything worked perfectly, ffwd/rewinding at full speed, no problem.

However, after a few minutes of use the walkman suddenly makes a grinding noise and fwd/rew no longer works. Opened it up again and found that a set of gears had come loose from their shaft. The little lock washer that was supposed to hold it in place had given up. The gears are being pushed up by a spring, so there's a lot of tension on it.

Can't really see anything wrong with the mechanism, so I think it's just the little washer that's given the ghost after all these years. Can I just replace it with an e-ring that would fit, or even a starlock washer? Where can I find these parts, e.g. a nice kit for spares for future projects?
