Hi I have a pretty nice GF-9292X and the stereo light will barely blink on and off when tuning in some stations.
Now I've done this adjustment on a 9191 before but I'm not getting it to come in like it should.
FM is strong and SW1 & SW2 work fine.
AM however barely pulled in one station and am wondering where the actual stereo capture adjustment is on this plus if anyone knows if there is any adjustment for the AM on this I'd love for someone to help me out pinpointing where these adjustments are.
Photos included.
I'd appreciate any help on this.
Thanks,
Jeff.😀😎📟💳📻

I had the same problem with a GF-9494. The tuner boards look very similar. The resistor on mine had a little corrosion inside. A quick spray and a few switches around back and forth restored FM stereo.

The one you want to adjust is the R22 resistor - (the one under the two wires to the left of the R34 resistor in your pic).

Just mark the position before you turn it and return it to the same position when you're done.

My GF-9494 board:

Your R22 resistor looks discoloured - maybe corrosion?

Can't help on the AM issue. :-(

Thanks Jimmy! It was actually the R34 that with just a slight very slight turn to the right and BAM all stereo on all stations now!!
The R22 didn't really do anything but I put it back at exactly the 2:00 position where it was.
Now if I could just get the AM to work.
When I get my belts I'll look into the AM again.
Does anyone here know if there's any adjustments that might get AMh to get a signal?
I am going to first de-oxit the ytuner switches then try the AM. SW1/SW2 seem to work ok.
Thanks again!!😀😎📟💳📻🎼🎵

It's not out of adjustment. These open style semi adjustable resistors get slight corrosion on the surfaces. A slight 'adjustment' just cleans the two surfaces enough to get a circuit. My 9494 responded to this procedure. However, to get a reliable, long lasting fix, I had to use a little switch cleaner.

The R22 resistor was the one that needed fixing on my 9494 to get FM stereo back.

I barely had to move that R34 just ever so slightly and it's great now!!
I'm glad SW's work good to but AM-hmmm.
That's one thing I'm not sure where to start,I'm not going to adjust anything until I have a schematic or someone who has done this before advice.
I don't even really get static on AM,pretty quiet.

This 9292 is a very nice clean unit.
I appreciate the help guys, tuners are very tricky and you have to be very careful!😮😀

After listening closely tonight where AM would usually come in better I'm hearing a low hum and where I should get a station around 1240 I'm getting a intermittent drifting type signal but no music just like it's trying to come in but it's like it's out of phase.

Now we don't get the best AM around where I live but better late night early AM.
SW1 is strong and lots of stations and SW2 is pretty good, just not a lot of signals past the halfway point to the right but I think it's that way on this band.FM is fantastic! !

Any suggedtions? I wish Norm could throw in some advice on this.😞
