I have a Fisher PH-D715 boombox for years, it worked fine with AC cord plug-in until recently, the AC power was no longer working.
This unit allowed three power inputs, 120 v AC, 12v DC and 8 D Battery pack.
The unit can still be operated with Battery but not with 12v DC adaptors, I tried 12v 1.25am, 12v, 5am (there was no indication of what am rating was required and I do not have the manual to find out).
I would like to fix the AC power unit or find a correct 12v DC adaptor, any suggestion? Thanks.

I have opened the box and taken 3 photos: the power unit is on the right, close-up view of power unit and circuit board.IMG_0767.JPGIMG_0768.JPGIMG_0769.JPG

These boomboxes typically have switched receptacles to ensure only one power source is connected at a time. That means each jack has a microswitch, usually inside the jack. Spray the heck out of them with electronics cleaner while working them to clear that up. The contacts corrode or oxidize over time preventing good contact. That's probably your issue.
