I replaced all the belts, pinch roller and idler tire. Pinch roller and idler tire were used ones I got from a member and they looked good and fit perfectly.
Deck will rewind and fast forward but will not play.
The take up reel does not move therefore cassette tape Will spool up inside the cassette.
The idler tire engages when you press play but doesn't seem to meet up with the spindle that is supposed to spin it. I wonder if the tire is not the correct outer diameter or wore out. Any help / suggestions will be appreciated

These links are very useful. They are a solution for the widely known problem with Sharp 9x9x decks,
but there is something unusual in description of the problem:
Frank says that "The idler tire engages when you press play but doesn't seem to meet up with the spindle that is supposed to spin it". and the take up reel does not move!

Here's what can be done to fix this:

First you need to pull out the take up reel by removing it from the shaft.

It consists of three plastic parts and one spring. Be sure that the white hub disc which should be in contact with idler tire is cleaned thoroughly.
All the parts needs to be separated with a screwdriver.

The two parts, the bottom disc and the hub disc from white plastic on the back side of the take up reel is designed to be a part of the auto stop system so the spring pushes this two parts each other to make a certain amount of grip, so that the idler tire can rotate all the system of the take up reel but if there is some difficulties in rotating (eg. defective cassette that is hard to turn) then the idler will continue to rotate the hub disc but the take up reel will stop to winding the tape. With time, this spring weakens and it needs to be stretched a little to improve the grip. Stretch the spring for no more than 1,5 mm.

When this operation is finished, you can assemble all four parts and put it back the take up reel on the shaft.

This is the last correction if everything else from the Royce repairing post is executed.
I hope this will be helpful to all present and future members.
