Attention all Southeast Queenslanders,

All are welcome to the next Brisbane Boomboxery.com meet scheduled, all going well, for Sunday 2/11/14 starting around 10.00 am. The more the merrier!! :gathering:

The BBQ will be fired up and the XXXX will be icy cold ;-)

And don't forget to bring them blasters!!! Plenty of power boards here ready to go!

Wow, an M70 owner from new - very cool! :stereo:

I would like to say we have these Brisbane meets regularly but it has been awhile since the last one. We have 4 local members in Brisbane that I know of.

You're welcome to come along to next Sundays meet at Mansfield (near Mt Gravatt) if you want to meet some great guys and check out some of Queensland's best boomboxes. :rock:

Hi James, up until a couple of weeks ago, by chance I saw one sell on eBay, I didn't think my old M70 was anything but an old radio thats been sitting in the spare bedroom for the last 20 years!

Had it listed on eBay until about ten minutes go - pulled the ad after swapping a few messages with a guy named Dan and he introduced me to this site.

Now deciding to keep it or go ahead with the sale ... but definitely keen to know a little more about this hobby I knew nothing about until now :)

I'm from Toowoomba, so will see if I can do a runner next weekend and come have a look!

It's a small world Paul, I actually gave Dan the heads up on your ebay M70! I won't get in the way of a possible sale between you and Dan - all I will say is that the M70 is a much sought after JVC and is a good box to base a collection upon.

Just P.M me for the address details if you decide to come along Sunday.

Dan said he might be in Tmba this week so will come have a look and bring a lead and some tunes to give it a run ...

He will also give me some advice on it's "real" condition and whether it may need a refurb or not.

Still wondering if I should sell it or not - no harm to keep it for now as I see it hence why I pulled the eBay ad:)

Well work ruined my attendance at the annual Brisbane meet......I hope my C-100f got a good work out in my absence! So what was this mystery box of yours I missed Brian?? I am awaiting pics!

And Paul, I got busy with work last week mate and didn't make it up.......hopefully up there soon. I might have talked myself out of an M70 I've been chasing for a while but if I've turned another on to the simple joy of Boombox collecting I'm happy ;)......and James is right an M70 is a hell of a start, especially since you bought it new!
