Hello. I am new to this site and have a question about my Panasonic RX 5100. It started making a loud tone sound when I push the play button. I am not sure if this is a grounding issue or if something else is wrong. I also have a portable panasonic RQ 356 recorder that has the exact same issue. Any idea on what I need to do to make these work again? Thanks!

i might be wrong but try this-
get a blank cassette.pop it in.then,hit play and record quickly 10 times.see if that works.from your description it should as ive done it before with a similar issue on a few of mine and it works brilliantly.
