Rattling battery cover; dampening material?

Long time lurker, first time poster here,

I recently acquired myself a Japanese domestic GF-909 and its battery cover tends to rattle with lower bass notes.
Thinking to myself, I see a solution to this with single adhesive side thin foam tape lining the side of the cover facing the battery compartment.

How does this plan sound to you guys? Any recommendations on what tape to use?
I'm all ears to alternatives and opinions.

Sounds like a good idea to me. An alternative would be the felt like material that you can put on the bottoms of lamps and such.

Yep, I use the same stuff! Works great and I use it, not just on the battery door, but where ever there is a rattle. I hate rattles. I have cut little tiny pieces and put inside the cassette doors too.

Good thing to know. Rattles suck. I would guess c battery boxes wouldn't have that issue.

Looks like good stuff.

I have bought $1 foam paint brushes from fred meyers and hacked the foam off the wooden stick for a cheap fix. The foam on 'em looks just like the original dark grey stuff.

I had a similar issue like this before, funny i had a spare sound proofing vinyl tile and cut it up and did the job perfectly
I think the stuff in the picture is the same material!
