When you buy a sharp GF 9595 or 9494 or other numbers you have the problem with that rubber for play on the capstain from the flying wheel... this little piece of rubber is like nutella, or lakritze...

MY (ok, my and my brother's) IDEA:
We all has it on the TV... not scart or HDMI, i mean the coax (antenne-sat) cable...
Open the first isolation you have the ground wire... but, the white peace of plastig from the signal wire is what you need for the capstain... its round an has a hole in the mittle
Cut i off and put it on the capstain... i will test it tomorrow on my NEEEEEEEW GF 9494 :-)

Thanks for read

Its grippy enough, but i think it's not round ennough.
the second wheel whats turned from that capstain-rubber moves a bit... It could be tu much and the cassette starts droning. (droning *fast-slow, fast slow, is that right ??????)

We use silicone rubber hose at hobby stores for this purpose.
We do. Northerner uses bright, fluorescent green hose for the task and I use a semi transparent pink for my re-sleeving jobs.
Others have reported good results with catheter tubing from medical supplies shops and it's also a good plan to make sure that the idler tyre which runs against that sleeve is in good condition as they can turn to paste too.

That GF 9494 is a great box, sooo easy to open and now with line in... awsome !!!!!
The sound... woooooooow. Ive chanched the cap from 2200 µ to 8600 µ...
And this GF loooooooks fantastic.
For me is this GF 9494 better as a M 70... ok, what i say is a big number, but everyone has a personal holy grail... my grails are the gf 777 and now the gf 9494 :-)

Greeeeting cookie :-)
Have a nice day together !!!

Do you mean you changed the tweeter (audio frequency capacitor) passive crossover NP cap? How many ohms are the speakers?

noo, sorry... not for the speakers. (the tweeters cpas have 4,7 µ)
I mean the power cap near the amplifier. The lamps flashed a lot and my idea was a better cap... with that its a bit better. 2200 µ -> 8600 µ. And: why not ???... :- ).

Actually you shouldn't change microfarrad rating when replacing caps, just increase voltage rating and perhaps temperature spec..

Yes, i know... but it was the big 25 volt cap, like this cap in a car with a big amp for music.
A low voltage cap blows up... when the values are false, my gf *was* a radio...
Not the cap for the speakers... i mean this, directly by the amp on 15 volt (ground and plus, parallel to the trafo or the batteries)
...

Just restored another GF 9696 . A bit more work than i expected but it"s all ok now .
I mentioned it before but i use 5 mm hama beads for capstan rubber replacement. Works great
Is very cheap too.

I do not own a GF 9494 but in a GF 9696 is the speed potentiometer built in in the Motor . Black circle
I guess it's just like that in a GF 9494

That's a shame . Did not expect the 9494 to be so different from a 9696 . Except the tape Speed control on a 9696 at the front.
I don't have a schematic of a 9494 unfortunately

Sooooo...
In the last days i heard a little wiuwiuwiuwiuwiuwiuwiu in my cassets when i listen them on my gf 9494. It was from the motor, he is settet direct to 15 volts, NO speedcrontrol was possible. I replaced that stupid thing with a GF 777 motor, soild all right but the motor turns in the other way, I opend that new motor, desoild the speedcontrol- electric, soild wires direct on the motor to reverse the polarity from the electric to the motor. NOW it plays my cassets without disturbances. :-)
