Found this Unisef Z-2 with original packaging at an estate sale, full working. LOUD!

I also found this little GE am/ fm headset. I used to love these little compack units. This one sounds pretty damn good and LOUD!

Wife tested, wife approved! (she's singing along, enjoying!)

And yes, I know I have a pot leaf on my table. It's a cloth that came from Japan, that leaf is on everything over there!

All the best personal stereos are bright yellow! (I own a very yellow Sony WM-F73 and it's awesome too).

Funny you should mention the Mary-Jo leaf in connection with Japan. Going back around 25 years now, I was working at a community education project in Glasgow whose staff (seven of us at that time) were accommodated by the region in a huge old seventh storey flat in a scheme in the west end of the city. One of us, Teruko, came from Tokyo and she loved to pretend that she couldn't understand English, even the Glaswegian variety, beyond the hello and goodbye stage. We didn't realise that she was kidding us on at first but then one night when we all managed to get the same night off, so decided to go and have a drink up in town, we wondered how our Japanese colleague was managing to sustain what seemed like a very long, involved conversation with a guy standing at the other side of the bar room. At one point, their chat had become quite animated and one of our number went over to see that she was OK. Not only was she OK, but the fella she was deep in negotiation with was someone we all knew as he used to come up to the staff flat and bring us some of that special tobacco in exchange for me servicing his cars/tv sets/etc. It turned out that night that not only had Teri been kidding about how much English she could speak, but she'd managed to secure a discount for all of us with the man and his future visits to our place were much less formal. ISTR that she also managed to barter herself a massive discount on a new mountain bike. Not bad for a woman who had previously communicated in grunts and sign language!

LOL....That is funny! It's amazing what can be done when you so much in common! Always send in a pretty girl to do the negotiations!

I don't think that leaf means the same in Japan. It's carved into furniture and in floral patterns in clothes.

Hell, Canada has it on their flag    :weed:

As for this Unisef, it's no Sony by a long shot, but it obviously predates the limiting of volume on these devices as it is extremely loud and not in a good way. The sound is so so as you would expect, but hey, it was $2.00.

Wife is still rockin' the GE's
