Heyya, modders & freaks....

I have a 100v JAPAN version transformer & power board I can swap into my GF-777Z Can the 100v power assembly bolt right into the spot of the old one?

I would like to see what a 100v AC power rail will do in a 115v AC line. My guru down the road said it was no problem running a VICTOR RC-M70 in N.A. but does that go the same for the GF '7' series & the Japan variants?

If I can get the rails up to 20-21v DC, unloaded, that would rock.

Cheers,

Not a good idea because US voltage can go as high as 127v and maybe higher. There have been discussions about powering 100v Boomboxes on US voltage and damage can occur

Thanx for the input tripleB...I know its not recommended, of course. My question is, are the electronics, aside from the the power supply & tuner, the same for the 777 series & Japan variants. The C versions of the M70 & M90 are just rebranded 100v JAPAN models. That's why the M70C is rated 47w vs. 40w for N.A. versions....I bet the same is true for the 777 series but hope to get some verification on that.

Cheers,

Well, looking at the 1392 datasheet, 20v DC is max, limit so that would spell disaster, especially when I'm using 2.5 OHM BOSE BASS drivers & 3.2 OHM Super-Efficiency woofers with cloth surrounds & paper cones. Besides, it rocks already so I'll give that idea up.
