Hello BOOMBOXERY! I havn't been around in a lil while, sure miss checking out the site on a daily basis. Feels good to be back!

I recently came across a gorgeous M70! From what I hear it sat in the same spot in an old mans bedroom since it was purchased brand new, and there it sat hardly ever used. All the bells and whistles are functioning perfectly, EVEN THE CASSETTE PLAYER! The only issue I'm having is the bass slider. It's actually fixed at a very good level of bass that works quite well.... but I want more sometimes. I decided to inspect my older M70 that's pretty beat up, bass slider does work. Upon taking the back off, and moving the circuit board out of the way enough.... I can see that the volume, treble, bass, record volume are all on the same board. It looks out of my league to make a swap like this. I just wanna know if anyone knows what my options are? Has anyone posted pics on how to remove some thing like this? Has anyone posted pics on how to take apart the sliders to clean them out? Thanks a ton fellas!

Try to clean the bass slider with Deoxit fader lube 5. This cleaning should take care of it if there is no break in the carbon strips where the sliding wafers makes contact.

The tone control board is the heart for sound quality. I have 3 M70s and I like only two of them because they sound the best.

1. Try cleaning the bass sliders and see if the bass sliders work well. The features on this tone control board are all interlinked one way or other.

2. Clean all the sliders there on the tone control board.

3. Get tone control board rebulit by member superduper.

The very last option would be to swap it from another working M70.

Great Member superduper explains clearly about the problem with sliders when I had issues with one channel.

See how helpful Superduper and Badboybill in this restoration work!

thank you for all the advice. Is proper cleaning more then just blowing electronic cleaner and applying deoxit? So far that is what I've done, and the bass level still cannot be changed.

More than likely it will need a complete rebuild but Superduper (Norm) I know has been very busy moving. If your beater sliders are working then maybe a swap would be way to go and wait for a while til maybe Norm can rebuild it. He usually has one that's rebuilt and all you need to do is ship your board to him and he will ship an already finished board to you. He also has a website that he sells led kits ;-)
