I have had a Conion, Clairtone, and Helix versions and they all have the same IC HA1392. Your best bet to avoid the cheapo knock offs is to get some used pulled units off ebay which were removed from working electronics.I recently bought some and the legs on them were so nice you would never think they were used. It was like $8+ each IC. I sold them with the Clairtone that needed repair.

I did get some NOS HA's from a company that are also selling used pulls, for 8.50 US. I'm hoping they are legit. Are they the same warehouse that sold you yours, BFZ? Here's the link:

Anyone know if these are legit? Has anyone tried using these?

Thanx,

I once bought a pair off eBay to effect a repair. After installing them, as soon as the boombox was powered up, they immediately smoked, sizzled and popped. Removed them and found a pair of used ones. Installed those and no problem. That's all I can say. Needless to say, pretty hard to return a pair of smoked/melted chips.

Well, I think there are the counterfeit ones which, for some reason are listed as single channel replacements??? but the listing I posted lists them as NOS, DUAL channel units with the specs sheet listed right in the listing. They also have used pulls which is a good sign to me. It would not be good to sell the crappy counterfeit MONOs if you want your reputation to hold up when selling used pulls. I won't know until I need them but I'm hoping the NOS chips pan out. I got them just in case the 2.5 OHM BOSE shortens their lifespan.

Cheers,
Cpl
