I find it hard to believe that a replacement wheat grain or other type bulb cannot be obtained... :hmmm:

I have a 40+ year old Sansui 5000x receiver that I completely re-lamped so I know they are out there.

As far as the switch, it may be possible to rebuild it. What I don't know is the exact type of switch. Norm or another could definitely help here, but it is not the end of the road I'm sure.

So Keith is dial light still working on AC? Many similar units have a built in switch where dial light works always on AC but cuts off when running DC and pressing the dial switch bypasses the cutoff switch for DC. Could be just switch itself but if it is light there is always a way to replace bulb ;-)

You can get any type of bulbs nowadays. I bought the thin green light bulbs of my Yamaha CR1040 recently.

Mine is identical to he unit in the youtube below

:hmmm: Struggling to understand how any competent engineer would think that was made from unobtanium. Sold in many different values at most electrical counters and stores such as Maplin, so presumably also sold in RS?
