Estate sale find: 1980's BNIB General electric ?

Bought this General electric walkman at an estate sale a few months back for $5 bucks.

I dont know the model or year. It is brand new in box never opened.

Is it any good ?

Those are good players with strong tuners.  (I had another GE variant.)  Solidly built and the best part is it's really NIB! :-D

Win! At that sort of money, you can't lose whether you keep it in its packaging so that it remains mint, or take it out, fit some batteries and enjoy it as it was built to be enjoyed.

Hey Robb, the model is 3-5470s, it's printed next to the walkman on the right of the packaging.

 

A quick google image search provided this pic of another one in its original packaging, which sold on eBay.
