I like Mono's idea of a box a week. My photography won't match up - but we'll get some box variation!

Here's the GF9696 sunbathing:

i really like the "box of the week" idea-

just for that -

anybody else agree ??

Damn, that box is minty fresh!!! :-O That's always been one of the boxes (along with other boxes in that Sharp series)
I might consider buying! The looks of those Sharps are beyond classic!

As for the photography, you've got the Sun on your side, so you win - hands down!

Thanks for posting!

RBJ et al -

The reason I liked the sound of the box a week / individual thread per box is that I have always found researching / navigating quite inefficient on s2g. So, when I have for example wanted to search for shots of a JC2000, I have trawled multiple search results to get them.

So, the idea was a 'pics' area in the bbx section with a each member posting multiple shots of a particular unit if they want to, and then say adding to an existing thread if the same box has already been done..? Some may have cool extras around them or in different locations, and different angles etc.. but that'd be fun part. I for one would love to be able to go to the C100/variants thread and see gsbad's boxes along with Adam at the beach, along with Hemi's shots etc.. etc..

If I then want to see pics of say an M70, the search takes me to the M70 thread and I can see loads of pics all in one place of that box, and lots of different members versions at the same time. Externals / Internals whatever - it just creates a nice library format.

Still great to have a section for collection shots as well (group or otherwise) as this is really nice to see.

Thoughts ?

Super idea Ewen...

Be a great source of quick easy reference and nice to have a kind of catalog of nice quality pics of all our favourites!

I have to agree, the 9696 is a tremendous box, even though mine's got some issues I still love it to bits and get a lot of enjoyment from hearing that lovely warm bass thud and crystal-like treble.

And I'm one of the few who likes the LED red and green VU's :-P

that would be a good idea, but I notice what happens a lot in any "dedicated" thread is someone posts a reply off topic and next thing you know the next 5-10 replies are all off topic. If Bobby starts a thread (s) for an individual radio, say designed for pictures, it should be limited to just pictures and keep the unrelated replies off of the thread. Just my opinion and you all know about those

Hey Ewen, you have a very good idea regarding the pictures section. I know many times at S2G I had looked for a picture of a particular box only to find that I had to wade through hundreds of countless posts while searching. Having box pictures in one central location would have definitely helped. Let me "stew" on it for a bit... :hmmm: :-)

Stew away FD....

I'm sure there will be some considerations like those already mentioned here around multiple thread text responses clouding the threads, so maybe there's a way around that I don't know. Thanks.
