Hi, I just posted pics of the box in the general chat section but none of the actual tuner. when I had the radio apart, everything seemed to be in place the string was on the plastic wheels. the tuner knob turns and I can see the string moving but it doesn't turn the wheel? I tried to move the wheel by hand but couldn't get it to move, I didn't trying to turn it very hard fearing It might break. Appreciate any help!!

The tuner string is fully hooked up the tuner wheel on board? You can try turning both the dial and the wheel and see if it moves. Only other issue could be jam. How far can you turn dial and does needle move?

Did you try and turn both at same time? Check string for jams where there are no pulleys. Also check for tension on string especially close to tuner knob where it should be wrapped around it a few times for tension ;-)

Check the needle assembly and see if it is stuck in the rail somewhere. This rarely happend because that part lubricated. One by one check all the pulleys, slots and see if they are free. The string might have got loose and the gang condenser could be on one extreme end where it cannot move any further. Be careful not to force and turn that way. The catch can never be at the axle of the main pulley. I've never seen a situation like this before. The cord is tied to a spring in the large tuning gang pulley for the tension of the string.
last thing is to check and see if someone made an 8 loop trying to slip the string over the large gang pulley. The diagram showing where to start and end with the number of turns will be in the manual. the end point is at the spring hooks.
In the worst case you might have to redo it.
It's not difficult once you know the number of turns to make on the tuning knob axis and the main gang pulley.

checked the wheel and it's fine all the pulleys are good, it seems like the needle is glued in place? it won't budge. :nugget: :bang: :bang:<br />
<br /><br />Someone might have tried to readjust needle to right position and when they glued string back on some leaked and got needle stuck. Try using goo gone to get glue to release ;-)

You have to use goo gone between the slide on needle. You might need to very carefully pry needle with small screwdriver being carful not to break anything ;-)

After you get needle off you will need to clean the glue from track so it's smooth for needle to slide on.
