Well I was lucky enough to get the grand daddy of the bass machines today off Craigslist.. the JVC RV-NB1 in excellent condition.. since my review I made of most of the modern boomboxes they were all compared to the bass king.. the JVC Kaboom.. the RV-NB1 is considered the best bass producing boombox period.. well along came the Sharp GX-M10 to de-throne the mighty JVC.. but I didn't have a JVC on hand to make a fair comparison.. well now I do..

I will do a BASS/OFF between the JVC RV-NB1.. Sharp GX-M10.. TDK 3 speaker/sound cube.. and the Pioneer Steez Crew.. using a JVC Everio GZ-HM50 High Definition stereo flash memory camcorder..

expect it in a day or so.. should be very interesting indeed..

STAY TUNED!

Ive tryed the Sharp GX-M10 for a few days and still have JVC RV-NB1.
Must say that RV-DP 200 smash both of them :-D .
It will be really interesting comparo and i cant wait to hear the verdict. My try was with deep tech house, so it might be little bit different. Sadly i sold my DP200 ( im so mad on myself :ls-duel: ). But for my taste ( more PA orientated sound) Sharp was not the right choice. Loved the lights on the woofers tough.
I used Pioneer CDj 1000 playing to mackie d.2 mixer and than to the boomer  And no way that other boomer can handle the dynamic and bass of the DP 200
What kind of music you are planing to use?

I'll tell you what.

The KABOOM is

INSANE when it comes to BASS!!!

Yes, it really is.

My FIRST LOVES, the M70s and M90s have RICH BASS but mix all frequencies to give a more true and balanced overall sound.

The quality of the M90's bass is so rich! SO SO RICH, BALANCED, AND PERFECT!!!

But if you're just going for bass over all other frequencies, I'm thinking the KABOOM wins. You sacrifice a lot of other frequencies, though.

Funniest thing is that I had a clip of JAWS running on my kaboom when I was doing "transport music" between locations during halloween (think cart, animatronic skeleton heads, and karaoke music all on a cart I wheeled for halloween carols (I know, it's really too much to wrap your head around here's a small sample https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4aUK0f2 ... Q&index=14 (aaaaaaaand...... Yes. I AM a crazy bitch)))

apparently NOBODY here believes us about the incredible bp 200 kaboom
Its their miss not ours  . I hate when people are "crowning" and believe just in things that saw and exclude all left and unknown.
For me so far ( and i really doubt something will dethrone it considering the now days quality of the all tech stuff ) DP 200 is the best carry around boombox for real low bass and power. Actually around here in Europe lot of people looks like knowing the raw power of dp200 , because its really hard to snag one for normal price lately. I should not writing this actually, because im hunting for one here in Europe  I want it back :-P . Damn how stupid i was

Thanks for a great video and taking the time to walk through them all.

Seeing them all together makes it easier to understand size. I have seen (don't own) the Kaboom, so I know how big that is....BTW, thanks for explaining the Kaboom a little more. I will keep my eye's open for the first gen. They come up cheap on Craigslist from time to time.

Both the Sharp and Pioneer look really good. The Pioneer looks great with the color and the cool handle and I like the volume controls on the handle.

But in the end, am I really that surprised that the Sharp is the best???? Not Really.... Sharp always topped the competition back in the day.

Now that the prices have come down to earth....I might look into one of these (I never thought I would say that)
