Good idea digging it up !

I´m Valter, i´m 18, from Estonia, been collecting boombox radios almost for a year. Here´ s a very blurry one and cropped photo of me with my very first serious boombox radio, the Hitachi TRK-7000.

I figured this thread existed, never found it though!
I'm 43, grew up in rural Minnesota, far from the city scene but we all had boxes. Always quite a few on the bus and on our desks.

I had electronics class in high school grades 9-12, and an old guy in town who ran his own battery tester business was keen on this, and would come by looking for cheap labor every now and then. My buddy took a position there doing schematic transfers from paper to computer, and being the lazy ass he was, he quit, so I took his job. After doing that for a bit I spent a couple years doing every random job - stuffing boards, winding transformers, fabricating chassis, making blueprints, kitting in the stockroom, making boards in the darkroom... I ended up settling into updating board designs done with tape on a light table into a CAD system. 23 years later I'm still designing them, now at Intel's server group.

Lovin all the pictures from you all. I never really did a "proper" intro for myself in the Introductions section, although most of you have seen my mug on here one too many times already. But heres a quik history for for ya for those of you that are newer here than others...

Steve Lopez aka SLO by friends and coworkers, 42 years YOUNG, born and raised in Southern California, moved to Colorado from age 20 to 26, then came back home to Cali where I reside now. Been collecting for 2 years now. My very 1st boombox from childhood was the Emerson CTR-949, which was followed by the LASONIC TRC-931 a year later.

Both of my childhood radios are long gone who knows where, but have since been replaced to grace the collection (current ones pictured) I've been a Correctional Officer for 14 years, working for the California Department of Corrections, what else can I say, I love this sh*t!

I'm Rory or Rudey to some. I'm not really a rude guy but the nickname has stuck since college!
I've worked in various jobs, mobile telecoms for over 20 years, publishing and now run a very very very small medical insurance business lol! I live in Crystal Palace South East London.
I'm a child of the 70s & 80s and seem to have been around boomboxes all my life. In the late 80s as a teenage I worked for Rumbelows (old skool UK electrical chain) but by then the great boxes had gone.

Here are some old random pics of me. Sorry none with boxes. Also my Pinterest page with some of my boomers and a few other pics.

Born in the 70s, grown in the 80s, like Rudey i have always been around boomboxes thanks to my dear old Dad. I'm a branch manager for an estate agency. Big hip hop fan, big jelly babies fan.
