Does the WM-D6 have the same gear in it as the WM-D3, which develops the crack and subsequent "clacking" issue that ultimately leads to it's becoming a paperweight?

Beyond testing for playback/record and the other functions, are there any other chronic issues for that particular model I should be concerned with or questions I should ask?

My WM-D3 finally stopped working after my own gear fix (held up about 2 years) and I'm not going to mess with it again. I will either sell it for parts on ebay instead, or disassemble and see about having the gear reproduced for mass production (and eventual selling)....

I have a deal pending with the owner of a boxed, working WM-D6 for a fair price and I want to cover as many bases as possible.

Thanks Ira...

I'm definitely going to get the WM-D6, and have reached out to retrodos, too.

Take care!
