If I didn't know any better, I would think those were two different boxes. I wonder which mechanism is "Version 1.0"?

Or someone replaced deck with similar deck since he says his other deck is same as mine :hmmm: there are AKA's of this box ;-)

That could definitely be a possibility. If the deck is a transplant, that might explain some of the issues. Most AKA boxes are similar, but never 100% the same. :-/ It sounds like the decks are logic controlled instead of mechanical. Is that right?

Well for one all pulleys need to line up even with belt on or something is wrong. When you press play does motor spin?
SUP BBB! Yes before I took the wheels off the top deck motor did spin belt and all.Thats when I mentioned Pinch rolleres would never mover down on stop mode :nonono:
And at that time No cassette was ever tested. F/RR made the spindles go,not in play mode :hmmm: .Hence I figured belt was wrong in set up or a missing 2nd belt.

Well for one both spindles are going to turn opposite each other which is wrong the way you have belt now. Try putting belts on as I showed you in picture with red color. Use 2 belts

Yeah some come with only one mic. I will tell you if your not experienced with repairs you may want to have someone else do it so you don't damage anymore things. There are a few guys in California might be willing to help you ;-)

Most Def on info! My skill is reconing, paint, pcb electomechanic assembly.did that for 11 yrs. Basic casettes belts are fine. I have a 54 y.o tech whis been in buisness for years and he has fixed some boxes in my personal stash. This Helix should have been a simple project... :-O Not by a long shot :annoyed: True its annoyed me like a Mo fo! But I'm trying to be patient and learn a thing or too by you guys. But it looks like yes its going to need a real skilled tech to bust this cassette deck down and rebuild it.
May find other things I'm not seeing too. Right B!
