Hi I bought a Clairtone 7980 a couple months ago. It is in really nice condition. It even has the manual. I need to replace the belts but what concerns me just as much is the volume pot. At low volumes I only get the right channel and then the left will turn on with a little more volume and then sound fine. I cleaned it but I think the pot is just gone unless they are just like that? I have all ready opened the back and gently cleaned the dust out. I see that it will not be a small task to get to the volume pot and unsolder it and put in a new one. Does anyone know where I can buy close to the exact replacement? I sent an email to "That Old Retro Store" in Calgary Alberta Canada to see if they know about repairing this model. I would like to get a professional or someone with experience to bring it back to new but will probably have to do it myself. Is there anyone in Calgary or possibly Edmonton Alberta that is really good with these and would fix it? I would pay good but am out near Fort McMurray working in the oil field and can bring it someone that can do this on my days off.
