Thanks for the greets and tips everyone! I really want to get this thing back in order. Sorry for the last post - I didn't add the photo correctly, but this time I will. I just took a few more pictures of the box and manual.

I've notice a few more things with the unit (aside from the broken antenna and the lower door not opening as mentioned previously)

1) When I turn the unit off, the light goes off but the power is still on. I have to literally unplug the unit! I don't ever remember that happening before.

2) After fiddling with the lower tape deck, I noticed when putting in a tape, I couldn't close the door. It's almost as if the plastic warped over time and the tape doesn't line up properly. On top of that, I can no longer open the door! I was pressing eject which was releasing the door, then manually pulling it open (not forcing). Now the eject button seems to not be functioning!?

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks all! Hope you enjoy the pics. I took a picture of something unrelated for those who care. I think they were meant to be played through the boombox.

Your problems can be easily fixed by having the bottom deck rebelted  .
The unit is always on because the lower deck is stuck in play postion right now which is also why you cannot insert a tape.
The head of the deck blocks the way. I believe your belts are only slipping and so the flywheel probably turned a little more so the door is blacked now too.
That happens when you haven't used these in a long time.

You have now two options to have this fixed:

1) Send it to MEEEEEEEEEEE :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

2) Send the TR-808 and the C100 to me :-D :-D :-D :-D :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

I mean - holy F$%K! An 808 :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: ! That is the SH!T! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Seriously, I'll PM you my address

Wow - talk about asking a question and getting an answer! Thanks!!!

I will search the forum for belts and replacement instructions. Hopefully they're still findable...

Yeah... the 808. Always wanted one - just got it from the original owner. It still had the original batteries in it.. manual is mint. It's truly amazing.

Wow! Your cardboard box is in better shape than most of Our members' C100F Boomboxes themselves :-D Your radio is in Pristine condition. Lovely. Good luck on Your repairs. Lots of knowledge here to help You. Just be ready for the silly jokes and harmless teasings and You'll fit right in. ;-)

Thank you everyone for all the help. I just ordered doubles of all the belts, thanks for the tip! Still not sure if I'm going to attempt it, but I work with a guy who's much better at this stuff than I am, so perhaps I'll give it a shot with his guidance.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Yes, I'm so glad I kept this thing. I almost tossed the box out several times, but something was telling me to keep it.

We took it apart yesterday to replace some belts. I left the upper deck alone because it seems to be fine, plus those belts seemed hard to get to. The bottom deck is now working, but the rewind is not totally engaging for some reason. It seems like the gears don't fully engage. Fast forward is fine.

Any ideas?

It's so nice to see this thing coming alive again!

I can't be sure because it was over a year ago I rebelted mine and because I've done so many boxes. Problem might be a dry or worn drive tire. (Not 100% sure deck has one) Sometimes cleaning tire and surface tire rides on with rubbing alcohol does the trick.
