I suppose they have built-in (rechargable?) batteries?
I actually kinda like these cases. I prefer those over most of the modern boombox attempts.

They are called Boomcase's i think there not bad for a picnic if your worried it may rain and you dont want to ruin your boombox

$600 and up for some thrift store speakers chucked in a old suitcase, not my cup of tea. For the $$ he expects you think a bit more effort would go into matching drivers to the internal volume of the suitcase. I do wonder if there is any reinforcement of the case to handle the weight of the drivers and prevent flexing while playing, and what sort of amps are used.

There better be a wood frame underneath that fabric, and there better be a damn good seal when the case is shut (I highly doubt it)

They look fun, but if he is only as good at building boombox-suitcases as he is installing wood trim in his house, then I say NO WAY. They don't do it for me :thumbsdown: .
