GE-5259 VU meter needle question..

Hello all- I just picked up a super sweet GE-5259 and the left VU meter 'dances' a bit slower than the right VU and seems to maybe be a bit more gooped up - any suggestions for cleaning this? Thanks in advance!

I assumed it could be gooped up (inside), causing the left meter to be more sluggish than the right meter'; could something else be causing this? TIA !

Does this have same reaction with tuner, tape and line in? If so then possible its a sticky meter. If not then maybe switches need to be deoxited ;-)
