what were the surprises ? :-D

One of the surprises was this little guy....I forgot who brought it, but it put out full deep bass like few other radios at the party could do and it was 14 inches long and 4 inches tall :-D Full logic deck, bass and treble, Dolby, Metal Cassette WILD!

119,000 yen = $1517.85
According to a website converter I found
What cost $1517.85 in 1975 would cost $6080.93 in 2010 :w00t: :-O

Putting it on eBay BIN for $6,000 sounds fair

50% off discount for Boomboxery members. :-D  :-D

That's very fair

The Sansui FX-500 stomped on that little Panny and buried the pieces at sea at the 2010 Sunshine Mix. ;-)

I am so very Proud of You all for making it so successful. I feel so sad that I wasn't able to grace you all with my presence :-P . Kathy & I were shorted over $400 that we were gonna use to make the trip down there. :thumbsdown : There were so many beautiful grails there. Those Brats were making me hungry btw  I'm drooling over that A5 and, Don's (I believe) 5350. I'm calling "Triple Dog Dibs" on that 5350 Don  ;-) ;-) The suitcase box is Supreme. I SO wanted to stand the Wheely among all those grails. I had a few other surprises to bring along too :sadno: You all represented very well and We are very proud of Y'all :smooch:

Well man, I have a feeling this won't be the last one :sadno: Hopefully I will have a few new ones for the next run up...and I need to see that Wheely in person

Seeing all the pictures on this site is great, but touching is so much better, kind of like the difference between internet pr0n and a real WOMAN

This easily could have been a two day event, we barely got to turn on 1/3 of the radio's there :-/

:agree: After I left I was kind of sad that I didn't get to play with or at least hear a lot more of the boxes. Once you get started it's easy to spend 15 to 30 minutes on one box so when you've got 70 or so there is no way to get through them all in an afternoon.

If the Sansui stomped on the Panny either the Panny you had wasn't working right or the Sansui is a giant killer. Since the closest I've heard to the Sansui is an FX-700 I don't have any knowledge of how good the 500 is but I can say the 700 is on the weak side and no where near as good as the Panny.

I want to thank Norm, Chris, Hans and Don for making this such a wonderful event. Seeing all those boomboxes together at one time was mind boggling. It is almost overwhelming to have so many boomboxes at your disposal. Your mind goes back and forth as to which one to play with next. You almost find yourself rushing to finish playing with one so you can get to the next one.

The side by side comparisons were a lot of fun. We definitely have to do more of that next year. The one boombox that really surprised me was the Lasonic 920. That sucker is very heavy and built quite well. I was not expecting such solid bass and clean highs from a Lasonic. That boombox should be on everyone's list.

I was in the back yard today taking down all the tables and canopies and reminiscing about the event and it brought a huge smile to my face. That is the first time in my life I have ever been exposed to so many boomboxes at one time and it is something I will never forget. Also a special thank you to Ellen for taking such great pictures. So to everyone who made this event possible.... :thankyou:

It's a giant killer. It won against every mini that tried to beat it. Ira keeps trying to steal it from me. :nonono: Crazy Ira!

I have to hear one if it's that good, the Panny is a great little box so if it's that much better it has to be awesome.
It must be far better than the 700 because my 700 is weak, it isn't even as good sounding as my one piece Sanyo mini's.

Also probably should have started with the smallest before working our way to the largest. The temptation was too strong to skip right to the big ones!

Totally agree man....mind blowing. And YES, more head to head blasting! That was fun and very surprising to see what radio could out blast the other. We'll have to set up a section for doing just that!

So many radio's didn't even get turned on

I was there from 10:30am - 5:30pm and still ran out of time

If we confirm Fresh Produce, Mac Daddy Freshness, THAFUZZ and =ml= for next year, your gonna need 5 more tables

REGARDING THE TRC-920 YOU SAW....
Mine is Pulverized  You would think that being my namesake that I would have minty one, but no  :-/ The case is loose, there are rattles here and there, but fully working. Just imagine a how good one in nice condition will be

We should have battled the 920 vs your M71 :w00t: Next year....I'm calling you out!
