M71 Radio is just static and right speaker only crackles

Hey guys,

I found that after assembling my M71 it works worse than before, although it still wasn't 100% back then. Now, the radio only gives me fuzz, and the right side speakers seem to only give crackles and only once in awhile. The left side pumps nicely though so I just want the whole thing to boom well now!

I'm not the best when it comes to electronics regarding testing things etc, but can you give me some ideas on what to check out that might be causing my troubles? I might end up taking it to my radio repair guy but I would prefer to fix it myself if possible to save the cash.

My recently received Hitachi TRK8080W had the exact same fault with FM - only left channel, no right channel. A clean of the band selector switch may fix it - mine is still not perfect but it's getting better with use. This radio was working fine until a 3 year lay off caused the switch fault to appear. Check that assuming you don't have loose speaker wires etc.
