Hey Peeps,

OK, so the Quintet I own has a bad right speaker, and I am getting lazy about this and aggravated...It is not a show box, but I did enjoy the amazing sound I got despite the hole in the cone of the right speaker....I could have sworn I saw an avatar of someone with the same (or very similar box) with the original speakers removed and replaced with some black speakers off an unknown box. I don't care if it looks bad, I just want a cool Boomer to tote around. Thanks for any suggestions if you got em...

Just buy replacement drivers for the speaker box. Do a Search here and on s2g. A few people have done this with positive results! Good Luck.

I was looking for replacements for my box and there wasn't a lot to choose from. I wanted something similar in specs to the original speakers. I found speakers on MCM Part.: 55-1853, that have close specs to the originals, but I thought they were too cheap. Ordered them and installed them, and they sound pretty good. They really pump with the volume turned all the way up.
Only thing was that one of the connectors is wider than the original connector. The aluminum cone looks good and they fit perfectly in the speaker box. I got the old speakers refoamed, but they couldn't maintain the appearance of the originals.
